Diese und weitere Fragen werden nordische und deutsche Autor·innen, Illustrator·innen, Expert·innen und Vertreter·innen der Buchbranche gemeinsam erörtern. Das Seminar, das im Rahmen unserer Ausstellung »Klein, aber groß – Kinderbuchillustrationen aus dem Norden« stattfindet, wird mit einer Keynote durch Ulrike Annick Weber von der Stiftung Lesen eröffnet.

Over the past decade, there has been a marked decline in the reading ability in the whole OECD area, especially among children and youth. There are many reasons for this, but in this panel discussion we want to focus on one of the possible solutions, namely illustrated books.
Illustrated books, comics and graphic novels are increasingly recognized as powerful tools to inspire reading among older children and teenagers.
Where is reading headed in today’s highly visual world, and how can visuals become a solution rather than a threat to reading? Join Nordic and German writers, illustrators, experts and representatives of the book industry to explore these questions.
